Sri Agneeswarar Temple – Thirupugalur
This Agneeswarar temple situvated in the village of
Thirupugalur in Thiruvarur district. This is one of the 276 Devara Paadal Petra
Shiva Sthalams and 75th Shiva Sthalam on the Southern bank of the river Cauveri
in Chozha Nadu. Saint Thirunavukkarasar
attained salvation and sang his last pathigam here. This is the birthplace
of Saint Muruga Nayanar, one of the 63 Nayanmars. This temple
is famous for performing “Vastu” pooja.
